Exciting News: A Bakery Cafe for Empowerment and Nourishment!

We are absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news that exemplifies the incredible impact of your generous support! Together, we are embarking on an inspiring new project - a bakery cafe at BN Calara Integrated National High School in Los Baños, Philippines, which will be run by their enterprising Year 11 and Year 12 students.

This bakery cafe is more than just a place to buy delicious treats; it is a vital opportunity for these young students to acquire valuable skills that will serve them well into their futures. By engaging in hands-on training in baking and café management, they will not only learn essential life skills but also develop a sense of responsibility and teamwork. This initiative will help them build confidence and prepare for careers, all while adding a dash of entrepreneurial spirit to their education!

Moreover, the bakery cafe will play a crucial role in addressing food insecurity among students. Many children arrive at school hungry and unable to concentrate on their studies. By providing nutritious food options on-site, they aim to ensure that every student has access to the nourishment they need to succeed academically. It is our hope that this cafe becomes a nurturing space where students can gather, support one another and fuel their bodies and minds for learning.

We are also extremely grateful to announce the presentation of a refurbished laptop for the school, generously donated by Boyd McLaws of Californian Enterprises and Potter Industries Melbourne. This laptop will enhance the students’ educational experience, providing them with the tools they need to engage with modern technology and expand their learning opportunities.
